Cheap Toner Cartridges Vs Original Branded Toner Cartridges

Toner Cartridges: are filled with very fine powder which is burned on to the paper - giving a permanent very highly defined result. Whereas inkjet cartridges are filled with liquid (inks) and spray the liquid onto the paper.

Inksave offer a huge range of laser toner cartridges, both branded goods from the printer manufacturer, and recycled toner cartridges - also known as cheap toner cartridges or remanufactured toner cartridges. Remanufactured toner cartridges are simply empty original cartridges that have been stripped down, intensively cleaned, rebuilt with any new parts needed, re-filled with system-matched toner powder, and test printed. As long as a perfect test page results they are boxed in generic packaging so as not to infringe manufacturer patents. 

The fact that toner cartridges are powder-filled means they are less likely to become problematic when stored for a long time, or installed in a little-used printers. Arguments about whether to choose cheap toner cartridges or original branded toner cartridges have rumbled on for years - and will no doubt continue to do so. In the last couple of years the falling value of the pound against the dollar and euro have driven up the cost of original toner cartridges in the UK significantly - as they are imported. The cost savings that can be enjoyed with cheap toner cartridges are considerable - up to 80% in some cases - so the argument for using them is pretty compelling on that basis alone.

We have about 10 years' experience in this business, from which we have learned that there are arguments for and against cheap toner cartridges. Although mono (black & white) laser printers have been commonplace for 20 years or so now, it's only really been in the last decade that colour laser printers have become hugely popular. Our advice is broadly as follows:

CHEAP HP TONER CARTRIDGES - For mono HP laser printers there is almost no difference at all in the reliability of remanufactured HP toner cartridges, when compared to original branded ones. Print quality remains very high, and page outputs are either the same or higher from the cheaper cartridges. On the whole we highly recommend remanufactured toner cartridges for black and white HP printers. HP Colour laserjet printers have a great deal more going on inside, as four different toner cartridges are mixing colours to print on the same page. Engineering tolerances are therefore extremely tight. That said we have many customers who use cheap toner cartridges in their HP colour laserjet printers all the time and are completely satisfied with the results. On the other hand we also have customers who insist on original branded goods despite the additional cost. There are a couple of HP Colour laserjet machines that are simply unreliable even with the best remanufactured cartridges, and for those we simply do not list the remanufactured ones as an option - there is no point in supplying goods we know may well disappoint. For most machines we offer both types and leave it for the customer to choose. One thing's for sure - if you ever buy any cartridge from Inksave and you're not completely happy we will always replace/credit/refund without quibbling.

CHEAP EPSON TONER CARTRIDGES - Because Epson laser printers operate in a different way to HP Laserjets, the toner cartridges for many of Epson Aculaser machines are less complex - fundamentally being a plastic tank filled with powder. We sell loads of remanufactured Epson toner cartridges and they are incredibly reliable. We recommend them very highly.

CHEAP BROTHER TONER CARTRIDGES - Again, there are significant savings to be had with remanufactured Brother toner cartridges, and reliability is superb. We sell large numbers of cheap Brother toner cartridges and the failure rate is below 1%. When the odd failure does occur (such is life!) we always replace/credit/refund immediately. We highly recommend remanufactured Brother toners for both mono and colour Brother laser printers.

CHEAP SAMSUNG TONER CARTRIDGES - For both colour and mono Samsung laser printers, our range of remanufactured toner cartridges is hugely popular with customers, very reliable, and extremely cost-effective.

Inksave also offer a good choice of cheap toner cartridges for Lexmark, Dell, Xerox, Canon, OKI, Kyocera and Konica-Minolta laser printers.
