Read carefully to fully understand why we rate Brother ink cartridges so highly...
Ink cartridges from many of the major printer manufacturers are very expensive to buy, and the companies go to extraordinary lengths to try and electronically stop the end-user saving money by using non-branded cheap ink cartridges. Most inkjet printer cartridges have either an electronic chip, or inbuilt micro-electronics giving the manufacturer many opportunities to "tweak" things in their favour. They make millions of pounds from selling printer consumables and they do their best to protect those profits. Some build in electronic failure once an inkjet cartridge has delivered a certain number of pages, so the cartridge cannot be refilled or recycled and will stop working even if it has plenty of ink inside. So much for the environment! Others have an electronic chip which does largely the same thing, and cannot be reset.
Because most compatible ink cartridges contain substantially more ink than genuine branded ink cartridges, one manufacturer even builds a governer into their printers to prevent the end-user enjoying that benefit. For example - say the most popular colour ink cartridges from a manufacturer are supplied with 5.5ml of ink inside (just over a teaspoon)... The alternative cheap ink cartridges may be filled to a much more reasonable 19ml. If the printer was made after March 2008 and therefore is electronically "governed" by that manufacturer at the point of build, then any colour ink cartridges will be deemed empty by the machine once they have delivered 5.5ml. So thanks to that manufacturer the hapless end-user has to throw away ink cartridges that still contain loads of ink! So much for the environment!
Thankfully Brother do not stoop to these levels of greed. Brother ink cartridges are all filled to a very reasonable level, sensibly priced, and Brother are not in the business of building in electronic wizardry to try and extract the maximum profit from each and every customer. If you choose the popular cheap Brother ink cartridges you'll enjoy great savings, and benefit from ungoverned ink cartridges that will deliver all the ink inside. It's certainly food for thought if you have found yourself paying £50-£60 for a couple of printer ink cartridges with tiny amounts of ink inside for a non-Brother machine.
At Inksave we also offer the complete range of Brother toner cartridges for all Brother Laser printers and fax machines with free fast delivery.
